About the Author

Got TRUTH? Read EMBRACING the Power of Truth by Shavasti and his magnificently brilliant book for the ages....

He's a dear friend and colleague and a magnificent writer to say the least. He takes us on an outer and inner journey simultaneously. He teaches us many new things as as well. He takes us on his journey from OUTSIDE to INSIDE and back out again with new insight and new tools to differentiate truth from opinion to assist us in becoming fully conscious beings. In 1 word BRILLIANT! OK 2 Words MAGNIFICENT!

You cannot read this book without facilitating change!

"Embracing the Power of Truth" is beautifully and simply written - filled with personal stories, profoundly felt universal observations, and instruction which, if you allow, will touch deeply into your own tender places, facilitating release and change.
Shavasti’s book does something not many spiritual books do – it relays the truth about what it takes to achieve freedom and connection with the source of our Being. No sugar-coating. No spiritual bypass. He took a risk doing this since despite what most of us say we want in the way of ‘enlightenment’, what we actually want is escape from our pain and support for our illusions and delusions both spiritual and material. If you wish to keep on playing at spirituality and hoping that a Mommy and/or Daddy projection of the Divine is going to save you without going fully into all the shame, anger and feelings of worthlessness that we hold in our body and psyche, then there are shelves and shelves of that kind of thing available for purchase. But if what you want is to bring up your process - those emotions and concepts which are holding you from experiencing your own true nature in a way that helps to clear that energy – then this will not disappoint. It is only through entering into our embodied feelings of shame, anger and worthlessness – our wounding - that we are able to go through to the truth of who we are, to feel our innate worthiness.
There are so many wonderful passages in this volume which help to bring our attention to the truth of our situation and into the present moment, but one of my favorites is “…we can only heal that which happened, we cannot heal that which should not have happened (p. 92, paperback edition).” How much of our time and effort is spent bemoaning ‘what should have been’ over ‘what is?’ Every moment we reach a turning point where “each of us has denied the truth of who we are in order to feed the fear that somehow we need another to approve of us more than we need to love ourselves (p. 158, paperback edition).” So elegantly simple and yet, so powerful if we are able to take it in. Are we ready to face these inner betrayals of our own true nature? If so, Shavasti is a grounded and compassionate guide to the depths of our deepest longing, pain and confusion, and through to the magnificent truth of our own Being.

The author invites, demonstrates and inspires new possibilities for surrendering to the Heart through a coherent sharing of his personal journey and experiences. He offers a dynamic blend of context and tools that guide and support the reader to embrace the vulnerability of living life with a depth of intimacy and communion beyond the Ordinary. Shavasti has gently inspired me to take a deeper bow and to live more authentically by allowing the truth of my Heart to predominate my life.
