The author examines the various symptoms of sex-related problems couples experience and takes the reader through a step-by-step analysis of the situations, then proposes tactics to resolve the problems. She then reports on the results as her 'subjects' follow her advice.

Each case she reports on addresses a different type of problem and the source of the problem. Her analyses are very eye-opening and make the reader aware of the impact on sexual behavior of seemingly unrelated issues that arise in everyday life.

If every couple would read this book and discuss the cases presented in it, the need for divorce lawyers would be significantly reduced.

Extremely interesting

I have always wondered why my associates would say Hotep, and then their actions were the complete opposite. So after reading this and understanding the whole principal being Hotep, I think I need to quiz and if these people.

This opened my eyes and gave me more insight to connect the dots. There are a new list of books that I will be picking up, to educate myself even further. I like this author and look forward to reading more of his work so I can further enlightenment myself.

With the global nature of today's investment management process and the increasing complexity of financial instruments, we may seem far removed from the bond markets that authors Martin Leibowitz and Sidney Homer first wrote about over forty years ago, but the ability of this new Third Edition to explain complex relationships in the debt markets in a logical and often intuitive way remains unchanged.

It contains the complete original edition of Leibowitz and Homer's classic, which basically created the science of bond analysis through clear explanations of bond portfolio management and the math behind bond yields and prices. Bob Isaacson is a great teacher!

This book is req'd for a class, but I likely would have bought it anyway. I've seen video lectures by Bob Isaacson and he's an incredible teacher who really seems to know his subject and brings devotion and enthusiasm to all aspects of it. Hearing him speak on "The Love Song of Alfred Prufrock" was a turning point for me in understanding 20th century American poetry.

The format is similar to college reading texts, whereas subjects are discussed with the student responding via essay or Blackboard Discussion boards. This is an ideal text for that, and the price was much less than what I've paid in prior semesters for "Signs of Life in the USA" which had been req'd before.

About the Author
Margaret L. Andersen (B.A., Georgia State University; M.A., Ph.D. University of Massachusetts, Amherst) is the Edward F. and Elizabeth Goodman Rosenberg Professor of Sociology at the University of Delaware, where she has also served in several senior administrative positions, including most recently as Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs and Diversity. She holds secondary appointments in Black American Studies and Women and Gender Studies. She is the author of several books, including (among others) THINKING ABOUT WOMEN, recently published in its tenth edition; the best-selling anthology, RACE, CLASS, AND GENDER (co-edited with Patricia Hill Collins, now in its ninth edition); LIVING ART: THE LIFE OF PAUL R. JONES, AFRICAN AMERICAN ART COLLECTOR; and ON LAND AND ON SEA: A CENTURY OF WOMEN IN THE ROSENFELD COLLECTION. She is a member of the National Advisory Board for Stanford University's Center for Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity, the Past Vice President of the American Sociological Association, and Past President of the Eastern Sociological Society, from which she received the ESS Merit Award. She has also received two teaching awards from the University of Delaware and the American Sociological Association's Jessie Bernard Award.

Patricia Hill Collins is Distinguished University Professor of Sociology at the University of Maryland at College Park, and Charles Phelps Taft Emeritus Professor of African American Studies and Sociology at the University of Cincinnati. She is the author of numerous articles and books including BLACK FEMINIST THOUGHT: KNOWLEDGE, CONSCIOUSNESS, AND THE POLITICS OF EMPOWERMENT, which won the Jessie Bernard Award of the American Sociological Association (ASA) and the C. Wright Mills Award of the Society for the Study of Social Problems; and BLACK SEXUAL POLITICS: AFRICAN AMERICANS, GENDER, AND THE NEW RACISM, which won ASA's 2007 Distinguished Publication Award. She is also author of ANOTHER KIND OF PUBLIC EDUCATION: RACE, SCHOOLS, THE MEDIA, AND DEMOCRATIC POSSIBILITIES; the HANDBOOK OF RACE AND ETHNIC STUDIES, edited with John Solomos; and ON INTELLECTUAL ACTIVISM. She served as the 100th President of the American Sociological Association (ASA) in 2009. Dr. Collins received her B.A. and Ph.D. in sociology from Brandeis University, and her M.A.T. from Harvard University.

A very focused look at race, class, and gender issues in today's society, both in the US and abroad. Very eye-opening. The book reads very simply; Its prose isn't difficult, unlike other textbooks, and you could even read it outside of class. The questions are very well-thought out and engaging.

This book changed the way I think. I only wish I had bought it instead of renting it, because I would have read it all the way through!

Surprisingly good

I had to read this book for a college SOC class, and I was really surprised at how good the book actually was. The book is broken down into articles, not chapters, so it is much easier to read. Also, there are many, many topics covered throughout the book that have given me much insight on things that I was once ignorant of before taking my SOC class and reading this book. I rented it, and after I was done reading it I really wished I had bought it.
